Zero Waste Shopping
As a family we have been on a journey towards Zero Waste for a couple of years. We have been able to successfully reduce waste and plastic in our lives in a few areas but we still have a ways to go.
It is very encouraging to see more and more zero waste and eco-friendly shops popping up around the country and today I want to share with two such shops in Co. Wicklow.
Firstly, An Tairseach in Wicklow town is an organic farm shop selling lots of delicious fruit and veg as well as other organic products (some of these are not exactly zero waste). They also stock a small range of eco-friendly cleaning products (more on those in the near future) and zero-waste products such as beeswax wraps (really useful – more on those soon too!). Their website can be found here.
Secondly, And Keep opened its doors in Greystones just a few short months ago. Here you bring your own containers and can stock up on dry produce (pasta, rice, kidney beans, oats, etc). You can also refill your own containers with cleaning products and soap as well as finding shampoo bars, soap bars, sanitary products, cloth nappies, gifts and art supplies and more! I love visiting the shop to have a browse and stock up!
You can also order online from the owner of And Keep at the website here. Happy shopping!
