Easter Crafts

Over the years we have done a number of Easter crafts. Some of these are the often seen chicks and bunnies. In our family, however, we also like to remember the real meaning of Easter – Jesus’ death and resurrection. We try to do some crafts and activities based on the Easter story as well.

Here are some photos of some of the simple crafts we have done over the last couple of years. They involve basic craft materials that you are likely to have at home already – coloured paper/card, paint, colouring pencils/crayons, glue, scissors.

The sock bunnies are filled with rice but you could fill them with all sorts. The tomb painting uses wax resist – I wrote the words He Has Risen in white crayon (you need to lean quite heavily) and then we painted over then with watered down paint to reveal them. The chick on white paper was done by painting with forks and the Hoppy Easter card was made using some ink and fingerprints but could easily be done with paint.
