Carlingford Ferry
19 August 2020
You might have read my recent blog post on the Passage East ferry linking Waterford and Wexford. Well, we’ve been on another similar ferry also – this one linking Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland across Carlingford Lough. It sails from Greenore in Co Louth to Greencastle in Co Down and back again. It’s certainly a novel way to travel across the border!
Tickets can be booked online here and the ferry will take foot passengers as well as many types of vehicles. We took our car and it was very easy and fast. There are regular sailings every day, weather dependent of course!
