The Curragh in Newbridge, Co Kildare is home to many sheep and gorse bushes but also a large army base. You can drive through the base and there is also a military museum there. There is free parking and free admission. There is an indoor part of the museum with plenty of army memorabilia but the best part for us was the large assortment of vehicles parked outside – L was fascinated. You are free to wander around the vehicles as well as the inside part of the museum and if anyone in your family has an interest in the military or in vehicles it’s well worth calling in if you’re in the area.
