Kitchen Science!
L is very into science and electricity! A couple of years ago he received a ‘kitchen science kit’ with various experiments you can easily do at home.
One of the experiments involves making a little digital clock by using a lemon to conduct electricity. The kit provided the little digital clock and the wires and we had to provide forks and a lemon to help complete the circuit.
Quite a number of foods can actually be used to conduct electricity, such as potatoes and bananas. There was great excitement when the little LCD screen of the clock lit up.
Another of the experiments was the volcano. The kit provided a little volcano model but you could use a small container or anything really! This is another take on the baking soda and vinegar reaction and you can add red food colouring to make it look like lava.
