The Arklow Maritime Museum is a small but beautifully maintained museum located beside the Bridgewater Shopping Centre in Arklow, Co Wicklow. Entry is €5. It is packed full of artefacts to do with boating and sailing. We were able to wander around and some of the displays you were allowed to touch – such as the morse code machine. The volunteer working in the museum was a lovely, friendly elderly gentleman who was happy to answer any questions and show L and A how some of the artefacts worked. There were also some colouring pages and crayons for the kids on a small table.
As with many places in Ireland this museum is a hidden gem and well worth a trip if you happen to be in the area!
