Clondalkin Round Tower
11 March 2021
Clondalkin is a suburb of Dublin and seems an unlikely place to find a round tower and yet there is one there. It is believed that it is the oldest surviving round tower in Ireland. It is believed to be up to 1200 years old.
While you cannot go into the round tower itself you can walk right up to it and touch it. You can then go into the museum beside it to learn all about the history of the tower and try out some hands on activities such as trying on Viking clothing and trying to build your own tower. L and A really enjoyed how interactive this museum is!
