Durrow Scarecrow Festival
8 March 2021
If you happen to be in Laois the Durrow Scarecrow Festival is a fun and quirky festival which is worth checking out. Scarecrows appear all around the town and are judged by a panel of judges. There is also a competition for the best decorated bale of silage. Alongside the scarecrows and silage there is a whole programme of events, a small market and an area with fun activities for the kids such as bouncy castles – my son shot a bow and arrow and went water zorbing for the first time here and loved it! We had a blast wandering the town and marveling at the imaginative and fun scarecrows. We were only there for a few hours but the festival occurs over a number or days with lots to do and see.
