Easter at Glenroe Farm

We’ve visited Glenroe Farm in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow a number of times. It’s a lovely open farm complete with cafe, outdoor playground, covered play area and sand pit and a maze.

Each Easter the farm organises an Easter Egg hunt. There is a hunt for younger children and a hunt for older children. The hunt takes place in a field with hay bales dotted around the field and the little eggs are hidden behind the hay bales. It’s a very simple hunt but what I really like about this event is that it is never overcrowded. You book tickets in advance for a day and time so there are a set number of children at any one time and the kids can easily find a few eggs each.

While at the farm for the event you can also enjoy visiting the animals and of course spring is the perfect time to visit a farm as you can meet the chicks and even feed the lambs. It’s a lovely day out and we highly recommend it!
