Fire Training Centre
12 March 2021
L went through a phase of loving emergency services – including the fire service. We went to some fire station open days and I also organised a trip for him to our local fire station one day so he could try out the hose!
However, I then learned that you can visit the fire training centre in Dublin by arranging a private tour in advance. This is where firefighters train when becoming a fireman/woman. There is also a small firefighters museum in the building. It is completely free to visit.
We were shown all around the training centre and were even treated to juice and biscuits in the canteen. Outside we got to meet some of the recruits. We got to see lots of equipment and fire vehicles. It was a really super experience!
