Spaghetti and rice are great fun to play with – as long as you don’t mind using food for play. In both these activities I used food colouring to make the experience more fun and colourful.
The rice is raw but the spaghetti is cooked and cooled. To colour both the rice and spaghetti I divided it into small amounts and then used food colouring and ziplock bags to dye it. Place the rice or spaghetti into the bag with a few drops of colouring, close the bag and shake until the food is suitably dyed. Leave out on a tray or plate to dry before giving to the kids to play with.
