Rugby Themed Party

We had a rugby themed party for L’s 5th birthday party.

I managed to find a striped tablecloth to sort of mimic a rugby pitch with green grass and the white lines. I ordered a rugby ball shaped cookie cutter and used it to make cookies, cut sandwiches into rugby ball shapes and also to make chocolate rice krispie rugby balls which I decorated with white icing.

I used gold paper bags for the party favours and filled them with a few treats. I made paper cones using brown and white paper and filled them with popcorn. I also covered empty tin cans with brown paper to hold the cutlery and printed out a green and brown Happy Birthday banner to hang on the wall. We played ‘get the ball over the bar’ (a version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey) using a large green sheet and a white H shape. Finally, I painted a papier mache number 5 and we bought a 5 balloon.
