Spring Painting

You don’t just have to paint with a brush – you can make your own brushes and painting implements out of all sorts of objects!

Here L is using a peg and a pom pom ball to paint spring flowers. We had a peg and pom pom for each colour. As well as creating circles this activity helps develop fine motor skills – using the peg to pick up the pom pom, holding the pom pom in place, etc.

A is using celery to paint in the other photo. She had a lot of fun dipping the celery in the paint and stamping it on the paper. Older children could try and create spring flowers using this technique perhaps.
